Aku Menditeguy

Una poeta que escribe versos con su cuerpo, así se define Aku. Como artista multidisciplinaria, logra vincular en su proceso creativo la escritura con la expresión corporal. Oscilando de las palabras al movimiento y del movimiento a las palabras, el soporte de su obra es la poesía corporal.

Materializando su producción principalmente en video y fotografía, pero utilizando también otros soportes, la obra nace siempre de una partitura que se organiza en cuatro momentos: investigación, meditación, improvisación y grabación.

Los modos en los que Aku se expresa surgen de su pasión por abordar la vida con todos los sentidos despiertos y de su educación formal en artes visuales, danza, artes escénicas, escritura, expresión corporal y demás disciplinas artísticas.

La retórica que propone es una invitación a pensar y dialogar desde la corporalidad, la simbología y la metáfora. Entiende que a través del cuerpo es posible construir una narrativa y despertar la fibra más sensible de quien se involucra. La sutileza del tacto, el erizo de la piel, la respiración, la mirada profunda, las manos y los pies en suave movimiento redactan poesía, erigen una lírica que es única y constituye su obra.

A poet who writes verses with her body, that 's how Aku defines herself. As a multidisciplinary artist, she manages to connect writing with bodily expression in her creative process. Oscillating from words to movement and from movement to words, the foundation of her work is bodily poetry.

Her production mainly materializes in video and photography, but also uses other mediums/ supports. The work is always born from a score sheet that is organized in three moments: research, meditation, improvisation, and recording.

The ways in which Aku expresses herself arise from her passion for approaching life with all senses awake and from her formal education in visual arts, dance, performing arts, writing, bodily expression, and other artistic disciplines.

The rhetoric proposed in her work is an invitation to think and dialogue from corporeality, symbolism, and metaphor. She understands that through the body, it is possible to build a narrative and awaken the most sensitive fiber of those who engage with it. The subtlety of touch, the prickling of the skin, a deep breath, an intense gaze, the hands and feet in gentle motion, compose poetry, erect a lyric that is unique and constitute her artwork.
