Aku Menditeguy
La obra de Aku Menditeguy es un registro sensorial de la existencia: un eco que resuena a través del tiempo.
Como artista, despliega rituales para esculpirse una y otra vez, en un gesto de autorrevelación y transformación. Para plasmar y expandir ese trazo, desarrolla una práctica interdisciplinaria que atraviesa performance, fotografía, video, poesía y diversos procesos pictóricos y escultóricos. En ellos, el cuerpo se inscribe sobre distintas superficies y materialidades, convirtiéndose en imagen, gesto, huella y materia.
El cuerpo es su lienzo. Entra y sale de la piel para inventar un ser que se ofrece y se oculta en el intervalo entre el silencio y el sonido. Este acto es una disputa con lo temporal y, a la vez, una práctica de custodia de su existencia: cada impronta aparece como una herida blanda. Su trabajo habita lo liminal: ese instante en que lo tangible es atravesado para dejar un rastro. En esa vibración, el arte le exige presencia. Disuelve la forma para rozar lo innombrable y ser, por un instante, un átomo dentro de la trama humana que trasciende. Así, en sus obras, el gesto se convierte en lenguaje y su cuerpo en manifiesto.
The work of Aku Menditeguy is a sensory record of existence—an echo that resonates through time.
As an artist, she engages in rituals of self-sculpting, shaping and reshaping herself in an act of self-revelation and transformation. To embody and extend this trace, she develops an interdisciplinary practice that spans performance, photography, video, poetry, and diverse pictorial and sculptural processes. Through these mediums, the body inscribes itself onto different surfaces and materialities, becoming image, gesture, imprint, and matter.
The body is her canvas. She moves in and out of the skin, inventing a being that reveals and conceals itself within the interval between silence and sound.
This act is both a challenge to temporality and a practice of safeguarding her existence: each imprint emerges as a tender wound. Her work inhabits the liminal—that moment in which the tangible is traversed in order to leave a trace.
Within that vibration, art demands presence. She dissolves form to brush against the ineffable and becomes, for an instant, an atom within the human fabric that transcends.
Thus, in her work, gesture becomes language and her body becomes a manifesto.
