LAURA MANINO

Born in 1979 in Mendoza, Argentina, where she obtained a Bachelor's degree with artistic orientation at the School of Fine Arts in 1998. Later he studied until the 3rd year at the IUNA -National University Institute of Art- until 2001, in Buenos Aires, argenitna.
Between 2002 and 2007 he lives in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
She currently lives in Mar del Plata, Province of Buenos Aires. Complete your training by doing workshops and clinics with: María. Nilda Rosemberg, GRAPPA group (led by Josefina Fossatti and Claudio Roveda), Mariana Rodríguez Iglesias, Pablo Sinaí, Leila Tschopp, Daniel Fitte, María Lightowler, Carolina Bagnato, Lydia Betard, Grace Bayala and Diego Bresler.

Es una artista cuyo trabajo vincula geopolítica, imagen técnica y ficción. Investiga la naturaleza y el poder de las imágenes producidas por máquinas. Utiliza imágenes digitales, satelitales, imágenes médicas y CGI (imágenes generadas por computadora) empujando los límites de la autoría y de la especificidad fotográfica. Por un lado, le interesan las conexiones entre ciencia, naturaleza, tecnología y los particulares modos de habitar el territorio. Por el otro, trabaja con un enfoque conceptual del medio fotográfico, cuestionando la naturaleza de la fotografía digital como bisagra entre el mundo real y el virtual.

She is an artist whose work combines geopolitics, technical imagery, and fiction. She investigates the nature and power of machine-generated images. She uses digital, satellite, medical and CGI (computer generated imagery) imagery to push the boundaries of authorship and photographic specificity. On the one hand, he is interested in the connections between science, nature, technology, and the particular ways of inhabiting territory. On the other hand, he works with a conceptual approach to the photographic medium, questioning the nature of digital photography as a hinge between the real and the virtual world.
